Description

April 1945: the days are numbered for the Fascist regime and on the evening of the 25th Benito Mussolini leaves Milan and arrives in Como. He goes up to Menaggio where during the night of the 26th a German military convoy made up of thirty-eight lorries and two hundred soldiers in retreat have also arrived. Mussolini and his officials decide to join the convoy but in Musso the partisans order them to halt and in the square of Dongo the Duce is found out. In Menaggio, Grandola, Mezzegra, Musso, Dongo and Germasino the stage is set for history to be made.

The museum in Dongo and the one planned in Musso relate the story of the end of the war and bear precious testimony to what happened there over seventy years ago.
